Over the past two weeks, the Student Council has been collecting extra Halloween candy from the students of Oak Hill. This candy will be donated to Holiday Express, an organization who raises money and goods for those in need. On Monday, November 9th, we spent our meeting sorting and bagging candy for this organization. These bags will be distributed by local homeless shelters along with socks and toiletries. Thank you to our 6th and 7th Grade homeroom representatives for their help!

On Friday, October 23rd, Student Council held its first dance of the 2015 - 2016 school year. Over 60 7th and 8th Graders enjoyed pizza, snacks, and refreshments while listening to highly requested songs. Students played "coke and pepsi" and zombie tag to get the night started. Students also had a great time dancing and singing along with the different songs played by our DJ. Check out a few pictures from the dance below.
On Sunday, October 18, 2015, students from Oak Hill Academy helped to end hunger. Students walked 5 miles through Little Silver, Fair Haven, and Red Bank to simulate the distance some people must travel on foot for food and water each day. Students on Student Council made the Oak Hill Academy students aware of this cause through an assembly presented two weeks ago. Students were encouraged to donate peanut butter, rice, and beans for the local food pantries, and to join us for the walk on Sunday. We were excited about the turn out to this event! Below, you will see a few pictures from the Crop Walk yesterday.
Please join us on Sunday, October 18th when we walk to fight hunger! We will be participating in the CROP walk which kicks off at 1 PM at Red Bank Regional. Please see photos below of our students preparing for this event.
